I have recently been asked to make a few websites for some friends, making and charging for the website is fine, however obviously they want a domain name and web hosting as well.

I am going to be doing both of these through 123-reg.co.uk, and for these you have to pay either yearly or monthly prices. So the question is, how do I charge for this? Do I ask for their credit card details and use them for both? Or do I ask for a monthly price off of them? or what?

Answer: It really depends on how you want charge for the web hosting and domains for the client.

1. If you want to include the hosting and domain cost in your price, then you should register for the hosting and domain using your own credit card. You then charge a higher price to the client for web design, hosting and domain package. It is also a good idea for you to get a reseller hosting plan from Hostgator or Godaddy (see third option below) so that you can resell cPanel to different clients and make money on yearly renewals too.
2. If you want to be transparent about hosting and domain, let them register themselves for domain and hosting and then you ask them to give you their hosting username and passsword so that you can upload your design.
